DO YOU LOVE HORROR?
For twenty years, the Sacramento Horror Film Festival has remained dedicated to a single purpose: presenting outstanding independent horror cinema with integrity and focus. In an industry that often favors spectacle over substance, we have chosen the work itself. The films. The filmmakers. The audience that understands the value of both.
This twentieth year is a meaningful milestone. It reflects endurance, discipline, and an unwavering belief in the importance of independent voices. We are grateful to have reached this point. We are humbled by the artists who continue to trust us with their creations. We are thankful for the community that has sustained this event across two decades.
And yet, the mission does not change.
There are no distractions here. No excess. No ceremony designed to eclipse the art. Just a full day devoted entirely to short horror films that demand to be seen. Stories sharpened to a point. Visions that refuse compromise. Cinema that lingers long after the lights return.
Twenty years is history. It is legacy. But it is also proof of something far more important.
Horror endures.
It endures because artists continue to create in the dark. Because filmmakers risk comfort to tell stories that unsettle, confront, and awaken. Because audiences gather not for convenience, but for communion. Because the genre does not ask for permission.
So we continue.
We continue to champion the bold.
We continue to platform the fearless.
We continue to present the most uncompromising, blood driven, boundary pressing independent horror from around the world.
No bells. No whistles. No apology.
This is not about looking back.
This is about standing firm.
This is about the work.
Twenty years strong and still unsatisfied. Still hungry. Still devoted.
For the love of horror.
